Cooking up an App Oct. 20, 2011
Choosing a book on Objective-C (the programming language used to write software for the iPhone) wasn’t easy. I’m cooking up an app for the thrill.
There are several on the topic and technical books tend to be, well, technical. I downloaded several free samples to my Kindle so I could compare them. Ultimately, I decided on this one by Stephen Kochan because it seemed more readable....

Cooking up an App Oct. 19, 2011
I’m not a thrill seeker in the vein of skydiving or climbing the highest mountain. But I do like a challenge, and so I’m on an adventure to develop an app for the iPhone. I do have some programming background — learned a bit of Basic, Pascal, C++ at college programmed in the now-ancient COBOL language — but I don’t remember a whole lot except for overarching concepts....
